Vidal passes medical tests with Manchester United ahead of transfer, to take no 7 shirt
Arturo Vidal’s summer transfer to Manchester United has edged a step
closer after he reportedly passed medical tests with the club.
United have been chasing Vidal for most of the summer and despite Juventus insisting he will stay, reports yesterday suggested he was determined to move to Old Trafford.
But while it’s thought that the two clubs are yet to agree a fee, Vidal has now apparently passed a series of medical checks with United ahead of the switch.
The 27-year-old suffered with knee and ankle problems in the past and it’s thought that the Red Devils were keen to check up on those injuries ahead of a giant deal.
El Mercurio said the checks took place in Chile, but it is not clear whether Juventus gave their permission for the medical.
Vidal has already been promised £200,000-a-week at United and final figures with Juve are set to be the only thing left to agree.
The club have reportedly reserved the no. 7 shirt for Arturo Vidal ready for him to take once he signs from Juventus.
The shirt is currently vacant after Antonio Valencia ditched it, but it is connected with a string of United legends, including George Best, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Vidal now seems destined to be the next big name to take it on, with the paper also saying Van Gaal is desperate to get the transfer sorted quickly.
