All smiles! Rayven is happy with his new prosthetic |
Rayven “Bubba” Kahae was given the ingenious moveable hand by non-profit group E-nabling, and they even coloured it to match his favourite super hero, Iron Man.
The three-year-old from Hawaii suffers from ABS (Amniotic Band Syndrome), which his family say has always made him feel different from other children.
Speaking to KHON 2 News, Rayven’s grandmother Rulan Waikiki said: ‘He always said he doesn’t like that hand, he wants one like his sister’s.’
The mechanical-hand allowed Rayven to grab things with two hands for the first time in his life.

Rulan said she hopes that E-nabling’s prosthetic hands will stop children suffering from ABS from being ostracised.
‘Some of them right now are being teased in school because they don’t have a hand, but once they get this hand their self confidence will go through the roof.’
