LOVE DEEPLY - By Pastor David Okoye
“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults- unless of course you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging."(MSG) Matthew 7:1-2.
Romans 14:19 shows God’s heart for his children in their relationship with one another. It tells us to definitely aim for and pursue for what makes harmony and for mutual up-building (edification and development) of one another.
The message translation puts it thus, “so let’s agree to use all our energy in getting along with each other”. It’s a collective effort, it isn’t up to that certain brother or leader in church to amend his ways. But the scripture urges us today to make it our aim and pursuit, doing the things that we know builds us together in love.
This is the foundation and beauty of Christianity.
It is what stands us out from the rest. As the body of Christ, our hands reach out to heal and comfort the weak and feeble, our lips speak words we create, spirits that create the environment of our nation.
Little wonder Christ told his disciples that by the love attitude, the world would identify us as his disciples.
DECLARATION:
My words are edifying, they heal and give life to all.
