Done deal: Torres makes emotional return to boyhood club Atletico
Fernando Torres has returned to the club where he started his career at after Atletico Madrid confirmed they had agreed to re-sign their former striker on loan.
The news comes just days after the Spaniard was confirmed to be leaving Chelsea for AC Milan, with Torres’ loan deal at the Italian outfit set to become permanent in January.
However, with his former side Atletico being credited with being keen on bringing the striker back to the club, the 30-year-old has now agreed to join Los Rojiblancos on loan for the remainder of the season subject to passing a medical.
Torres reacted to the move on Twitter, writing on the social media website: ‘At last back home. Thanks to all that have made this dream come true.’
