Discard Every Grudge - David Okoye
“So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses.” Matthew 18:35.
This verse was extracted from the parable Jesus told his disciples, about a master who had to punish his servant who refused to forgive his fellow servant, even though his master had earlier forgiven him of his offences.
It’s humanly easy to get offended and very difficult for some to forgive, for that reason, unforgiveness can be locked down in a man’s heart for so long, despite his status and service to God.
Remember our lord Jesus told us “.... if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and come and offer thy gift.” Matthew 5:23-24 .
Unforgiveness disqualifies a man in the presence of God and can hider him from being accepted by God.
Anytime you choose to hold a grudge and not to forgive, you rob yourself of inner peace; open the door to uncontrolled anger, bitterness, and unwholesome thoughts, and eventually open the door for the devil to torment you.
You deserve to be happy and have peace. Let forgiveness be your lifestyle irrespective of the offense or offender.
Make peace visibly and in your heart with everyone that seem to have wronged you or you have wronged.
DECLARATION
My heart is free of any grudge or ill feeling towards anyone who has wronged me. I make my peace today with all, I choose to forgive and walk in peace with all men.
