Speaking to ITV News, Mr Sloat, who originates from Toronto, Canada, said: ‘We were kissing and cuddled next to each other when a minute or two after picking us up he pulled over and told us to get out.
When the couple asked why they were being forced to leave the vehicle, the driver reportedly replied: ‘I take gays but they don’t normally do this.’

Corey Watts and Jordan Sloat were disgusted by their treatment. |
He added: ‘I’m not naive. I know there’s homophobia but London is one of the gayest cities in the world.
‘I just can’t understand the driver’s thinking.’
Despite the driver’s hostile reaction to the couple, Mr Sloat has said that the incident has not dissuaded the couple from moving to London in February.
An Uber spokesman said: ‘Uber does not tolerate any form of discrimination either by our partner drivers or towards our partner drivers.
‘We opened an investigation from the moment we learned of this unacceptable incident and have been in contact with the rider to extend our sincere apologies and get further information.
‘The driver concerned has been suspended from the Uber platform’.
