'I won't wear leggings because men look at me lustfully', says Christian blogger

A blog post in which a woman said she won’t wear leggings in public because it causes men to look at her ‘lustfully’ has gone viral.

In a post entitled ‘Why I Chose To No Longer Wear Leggings’, Christian blogger Veronica Partridge said wearing yoga pants or leggings might ‘entice’ men other than her husband.

And the mother-of-one’s blog entry has been shared nearly 80,000 times on Facebook, with many social media users condemning the post.


‘We’re getting a lot of negativity,’ she told the Christian Post.
‘But we’re staying strong and praying with one another and reading our bible. I think it’s brought us closer together.’

Veronica Partridge does not want to ‘entice’ men other than her husband

In the blog post, Mrs Partridge said a conversation with her husband Dale – who admitted he found it ‘hard not to look’ at women in leggings – prompted her to change how she dressed.

‘If it is difficult for my husband who loves, honors, and respects me to keep his eyes focused ahead, then how much more difficult could it be for a man that may not have the same self-control?’ she wrote.

Mrs Partridge says that the only time she will wear leggings is if she’s wearing a shirt long enough ‘to cover her rear end’.

She stresses that she is not trying to tell people what to wear – only that it is her personal choice.
