Transfer shock! Man United will 'sell one star to buy two'

Manchester United have hinted they would accept £60million from Paris Saint-Germain for Angel di Maria.

The Argentina international is the most expensive player in British football history after his summer transfer to Old Trafford from Real Madrid.

However, the 26-year-old has been hit and miss during his first season in the Premier League and reports in Spain now suggest the player could join the French champions in the summer.

Fichajes.net claim PSG are lining up a £60 move for the player as a replacement for Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi – who are both expected to be sold at the end of the season.

And the report suggests United would be open to the move as it would release extra funds for manager Louis van Gaal to invest in the team’s defence.

The former Netherlands boss wants to replace Chris Smalling and Phil Jones this summer with Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels and Atletico Madrid captain Diego Godin.

But those moves will not come cheap and freeing up funds by selling Di Maria – who plays in a position where United already have strength – could make sense.
