Turkish police use water cannons and rubber bullets on Gay Pride demonstrators
Horrific footage of Gay Pride demonstrators being blasted with water cannons by Turkish police have emerged from Istanbul.
Today saw the conservative country’s capital hold its annual Gay Pride march, however for reasons unknown police descended on the march and used water cannons and even rubber bullets to disperse the crowd.
Homosexuality is not a crime in Turkey, however many of the country’s majority Muslim population are against it.
Images saw demonstrators blasted off their feet and thrown several feet backwards after being hit by the torrent of water from the police water cannons.
America may have taken a step toward equality recently, but some parts of the world are still clearly doing up their shoelaces.
