Husband plans second wedding after his wife lost her memory in a car crash
Your wedding is meant to be a day you’ll never forget. But for one bride, a car accident meant the most special day of her life was the one thing she couldn’t remember.
Justice and Jeremy Stamper were childhood sweethearts. They met at Sunday school aged 10, and started dating in high school.
Then last year, at the ages of 20 and 21, the couple from Tennessee, USA, made it official, tying the knot in their dream ceremony at Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia.
Jeremy gushed: ‘We were at the top of the world, newlyweds and our whole lives head of us.’
But just 19 days later, their lives changed forever.
Driving to her aunties house, Justice was in a terrible car crash, which very nearly claimed her life.
Thankfully Justice survived, but what didn’t survive was her memory of her wedding.
Talking to People, Jeremy explained: ‘She said to me, ‘I don’t want you to be mad, but I do not remember the wedding,”‘
He went on: ‘I, of course, was very upset, but I told her right then and there, “We will do it again.”‘
And that’s exactly what they’re doing. This year, on August 20 – the first anniversary of their first wedding – the couple will tie the knot for the second time.
Jeremy explained: ‘Our first wedding was beautiful and perfect… but this time, I want Justice to truly be blown away. She really deserves it.’
And you can help. The couple are currently trying to raise $5,000 (just over £3,000) to make this dream a reality, and what’s more, you’re even invited to go attend their big day.
Justice told People: ‘We are inviting everyone who helps us make this wedding happen… We want everyone to celebrate with us if they can.’
