Tuesday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 31 May, 2016) - Be A Faithful Steward
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” 1 Corinthians 4:2
A steward is one whom the master has entrusted something into His hands for him to account for it in due time. No man was born knowing how to serve God; every Christian learnt it.
This means that whenever a man comes to the house of the Lord, he should seek to know how to serve. We are stewards of God. He has entrusted in our hands the Word and we shall account for what we used it for in due time.
When God talks about stewards, He talks about those who are affiliated with profitability. We have not just being called to be stewards; we have got to be found faithful.
Abraham was found faithful by God and his faithfulness triggered the blessing.
The first principle of being a faithful steward is having no ownership of what you have. What you have is simply a possession. You only have possession of what God has given you. Haggai 2:8 says, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts”.

When God talks about silver and gold, He talks about wealth. The wealth you have does not belong to you but to God.
Whenever you act like you own what God has given you, He finds you unfaithful.
Your faithfulness as a steward is key to your growth.
Also, God approves you as a faithful steward when you are disciplined in your tithes. God owns everything especially what you submit to Him.
God would never superimpose Himself on you. If you do not submit to Him, He would withdraw.
DECLARATION
I am a faithful steward. I own nothing but have it all.
