Actress and filmmaker Angelina Jolie is embarking on a whole new career – at the London School Of Economics.

The Oscar-winning star – who is also a well-known human rights campaigner and UN ambassador – has taken on a role as a visiting professor at the School, delivering a series of lectures to students of the new one-year MSc course on women, peace and security.

The course – which Angelina helped launch last year with Britain’s former foreign secretary William Hague – will run from the start of the 2017 academic year.

‘I am very encouraged by the creation of this master’s programme,’ Angelina said in a statement.

‘I hope other academic institutions will follow this example, as it is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict.

‘I am looking forward to teaching and to learning from the students as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the United Nations”.

As well as lectures Angelina and Mr Hague will also take part in workshops and undertake their own research at the school.

That’s not the only place Angelina could be teaching in the near future – with Washington DC’s Georgetown University also tipped to welcome the actress through its doors.
