Arsenal complete signing of Granit Xhaka

Arsenal have confirmed the transfer of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

The Switzerland international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates and was pictured the new Arsenal kit last week.


The 23-year-old flew into London on Friday to finalise the move and the club have now confirmed a deal thought to be in the region of £35 million.

Xhaka leaves Gladbach after four years at the club following his move from £6.3million from Basel.
He has become Arsenal’s third most expensive signing after Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez as Arsene Wenger looks to add quality to his squad this summer.

A leaked photo suggested a deal was done earlier

During his time in the Bundesliga, Xhaka has scored six goals in 96 starts for Gladbach, while he has gained Champions League experience with both his former clubs.

Arsenal fans certainly won’t be surprised at his arrival but will no doubt be ecstatic Wenger has wrapped up some early summer business.
