Thursday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 26 May, 2016) - Give Praise

“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel” Psalms 22:3

The AMP rendering of our opening text puts it thus “But You are holy, O You who are enthroned in (the holy place where) the praises of Israel (are offered)” Our opening scripture reveals a great truth to us. God inhabits the praises of His people. That is, God dwells, operates and lives in our praises. He dwells in the sanctuary where the praises, thanksgivings and sacrifices of His people are continually offered.

God created man in His image (Genesis 1:27); we took to God. The more a man recognizes the deeds of another man; he is moved to do more things for the other man.

Same applies to God. The more we recognize the things God is doing for us and give Him praise for those things, He would be propelled to do much more.

Our thanks and praises inspires God to do more for us. Little wonder Solomon’s thanksgiving triggered God to do something He had never done.

You do not give thanks to God by shouting “Hallelujah.”

Praise is a lifestyle.

You give God praise when you live in the light of who He has called you to be. You give Him praise when you act, talk, live, decree and understand like the man He has made you to be. Psalms 100:4 says “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and in to his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name”. This scripture shows that we have the capacity to bless God. The question is how? We can bless God by showing forth His praise and giving Him thanks.

Choose to give God praise always for it is your sure way of getting more from Him.

DECLARATION

I give praise to God at all times. I thank Him for He is good and His mercy endures forever.
