Monday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 25th July, 2016) - Your Place Of Origin

“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;” Ephesians 2:19

Hebrews 12:22-23 tells “But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect". This is the family every Godchild is born into.

The MSG rendering states “No, that is not your experience at all. You’ve come to mount Zion, the city where God resides. the invisible Jerusalem is populated by throngs of festive angels and Christian citizens. It is the city where God is judge, with Judgements that make us just”.

If you are a child of God, you are a citizen of heaven. Zion is your home. The same way it's absurd for one to struggle to get into his homeland, the Godchild shouldn't.

Unfortunately many believers live their lives like they are 'trying' to make heaven. 'Making heaven' is the uppermost thought in their minds, so much so, that they forget their responsibility as Sons of Zion.

Many with this mentality become so sin-conscious instead of being God-conscious. If making heaven was God's singular purpose for you, He would have taken you to heaven immediately you were saved, as there would be nothing for you on earth. But, because He has a work for you on earth for the expansion of His kingdom, He invested His Spirit in you to bear fruits that remain.

God has an expectation of you. Live beyond you.

DECLARATION:
I am born of God and a citizen of heaven. I am made perfect and I am perfecting the generations of men.
