Tuesday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 12th July, 2016) - You Are The Light Of The World
The day I came across this scripture, it completely blew my mind. Darkness abounds in the earth, but so also does light. And the superiority of light is undeniable even to darkness itself.
The AMP rendering of our opening text says “And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it]". This means that darkness no matter how intense, at the entrance of Light is defeated without question.
Little wonder Isaiah 60:1-2 tells to “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee”. The proceeding verse expands further, it says “For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but The LORD shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee”. This is who you are, the Light that cannot be put out by the darkness that covers the earth and the people. Instead, like The Father Who “commands light to shine out of darkness.” 2 Corinthians 4:6.
Choose to shine your Light whatever the circumstance because the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. You are the Light and as such, have the ability to be productive even in an unproductive land or environment. You can't be put out. Shine today!
DECLARATION:
No land is infertile for me. I am productive even in a seemingly unfruitful land. The treasures of the dark belong to me.
