Monday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 8th August, 2016) - Greater Works Than These
“Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I
do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I
go unto my Father” John 14:12
Scriptures give us an account of how Jesus sent out the seventy to go heal the sick and how these ones went out and came back full of excitement that they could heal the sick and cast out demons like their master.
The response of The Master showed us what true authority is founded on “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20.

The response of The Master showed us what true authority is founded on “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20.
The MSG rendering puts it beautifully, it says “All the same, the great triumph is not your authority over evil, but in God’s authority over you and presence with you. Not what you do for God but what God does for you - that’s the agenda for rejoicing.”
Many have never really understood why The Master gave this response, because they believe that casting out demons for the Lord is the ultimate one could do for Him. But this is not true.
True rejoicing is never in what we do for the Lord, but in what He does for us and through us. You see, when one does not submit himself and everything he does to The Lord, he can never truly know fulfillment or meet the standard of the Word of God.
When our Lord Jesus walked the earth, He healed the sick, preached (taught), freed the oppressed and even raised the dead, but He couldn't give anyone salvation.
When He died and resurrected, He created a way for men to get salvation and become sons of God. This the greatest gift you could give any man, The good news of the life that the death of Christ affords, is the power of God to transform a man from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of the son in light.
You have a higher calling. Do greater works today and win a soul.
DECLARATION
I have boldness to preach the good news.
