Official: Juventus give Paul Pogba permission to complete Man Utd medical

Juventus have given French midfielder Paul Pogba permission to undergo a medical with Manchester United.

The long drawn out transfer saga of the summer is close to an end with Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward sealing a deal in principle that will break the transfer world record – according to Sky Sports.

Juventus, who splashed out a Serie A transfer record of £75.3million on Gonzalo Higuain in July, have allowed 23-year-old Pogba to return to Old Trafford after four supremely successful seasons in Turin.

The fee is expected to rise over the £100m mark, with the France international set to undergo his medical before completing the return to his former club – as announced on United’s official site.

Pogba joined the Manchester United youth academy in 2009 from French side Le Havre and, despite making his first team debut two years later, only made seven appearances for the club.

A move to Serie A side Juventus followed the expiration of his United contract, a tribunal deciding that the Italian club must pay just £800,000 compensation to Manchester United for snapping up the youngster.

Pogba will likely become Jose Mourinho’s fourth signing of the summer after recruiting Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
