Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump went head to head for the first time in a heated debate during the race to the White House.
Naturally, Hillary and Trump were hurling accusations at each other. Here are some of the key quotes covering major issues:Economy
‘Donald, I know you live in your own reality’ – Hillary Clinton.
‘I call it Trumped-up trickle-down’ – Mrs Clinton on Mr Trump’s proposals to cut taxes for higher earners.
‘All talk, no action, sounds good, never going to work. Our country is suffering because people like Secretary Clinton’ – Mr Trump.
‘Maybe he’s not as rich as he says he is. Maybe he is not as charitable as he claims. We don’t know all his business dealings.’ – Mrs Clinton on Mr Trump’s choice to not disclose his tax affairs.

‘Nafta is the worst trade deal, maybe ever signed anywhere but certainly ever signed in this country and now you want to approve trans-Pacific partnership.
‘You know if you did win you would approve that and that will be almost as bad as Nafta.’
On the record of previous Democratic governments Mrs Clinton hit back: ‘By the end of this evening I think I’ll be blamed for everything that has ever happened.’
Mr Trump prompted laughter from the audience when he replied: ‘Why not?’

Mr Trump repeated accusations that Mrs Clinton does not have the qualities to be president, including stamina.
Mrs Clinton said Mr Trump should not talk about stamina until he has tried out the busy schedule she kept up as secretary of state.
Women
Referring to the way Trump has disccused women, Hillary said: ‘This is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs’.She also recalled the time he labelled pregnancy ‘an inconvienience’ to businesses and employers.

He first accused Mrs Clinton of leaking tactics to Islamic State on her campaign website and criticised the Obama administration for the ascendancy of the terror group.
The Democratic candidate said she is hopeful that IS will be eradicated by the end of the year – with taking out its leaders her top priority in office.
In the wake of several deadly terror-related incidents in the US, Mrs Clinton said her rival had ‘consistently insulted Muslims abroad, Muslims at home’, while people from within the Muslim community would be key to fighting terror.

The candidates were quizzed on their views on cyber security, with a focus on Russia.
Mrs Clinton said the US ‘is not going to sit idly by’ and let hostile nations attempt to hack public or private information.
Trump’s past praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin left him open to attack. He simply replied ‘wrong’ when the comments were raised.
Gun laws
On this subject, the candidates actually agreed.Trump said he supported Mrs Clinton’s view that people on watch lists or no-fly lists should have restrictions on their ability to buy guns.
‘We have to look very strongly at no-fly lists and watch lists,’ the billionaire said.
