Friday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 9th September, 2016) - Be Selfless
'Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children". Ephesians 5:1
In Romans 12:1 we begin to see something peculiar about God. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” showing that there is a service that is referred to as 'REASONABLE'.
Another translation calls it an 'INTELLIGENT' service. Meaning that there is a service the God-child would offer that would be unreasonable and so would not be pleasing to God. You've got to learn to serve with your heart i.e. with passion and fervor.
Many don't seek to learn service. Your place of service is your place of promotion as that is where God locates you.

The Christian life is a life of service. The day you gave your life to the Lord, you were birthed into the service of the Almighty. In service, selflessness is key.
Many of God's children serve but do so with regard to self (whether it be for themselves or the benefit of some other person). God wants us in our service to Him, to serve without any feeling of resentment, pretense or complaints.
The right heart in service sets us in the right path of accessing God's blessings.
Inculcate humility in your service in God's house. A servant has no right, the only right he has is the one given to him by his master, neither does he have a right to complain.
His service isn't always pleasant but he has to do it anyway. Every master seeks and delights in a selfless servant.
Determine within yourself today to become selfless in your service in God's house. Offer reasonable service!
DECLARATION
I am a selfless servant of God and I make Him first in my life and decisions.
