Thursday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 6th October 2016) - The Ability Of The Word

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word, which is able to build you up, and to give an inheritance among all them which are sanctified” Acts 20:32

Over time, I have come to discover Four different kinds of Christians.

The first kind are those who go to church perhaps every service but never study the Word of God. They couldn't care any less about the things of the Lord outside the four walls of the church. These ones often become religious and stuck in their ways about the things of God.


What they believe about God is what they have always believed about Him and nothing anybody says will convince them otherwise. To these ones, Christianity is a religion.

The second category consists of those who spend time studying the Word of God so they can dispend to others. These ones can quote so many scriptures and are always they first to talk about the Word. Not because they are eager to see the Word produce results, but because they want others to know that they know the Word of God.

And yet the third category consists of those who know the Word of God but never want anyone to know that they know the Word of God. These are the secret-agent Christians. But, there is a fourth category that studies the Word of God for them.

They follow the Word circumspectly to do The Word.

As we listen to the Word of the Lord and walk with the lord, we ought to be able to ask ourselves genuinely, if the Word of God we have heard and have been exposed to, has been put to work in our lives.

The more we listen to the Word of God, the more we should ask ourselves how much it has profited us.

Learn to analyze your progress in the ways of the Lord.

You see, the Word of God is all powerful. This means that the Word of God in Itself is full of power. It does not need your input to be. Hebrews 4:12 tells “for the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two- edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrows, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” 

And in Psalms 147:15 scriptures tell “He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: His Word runneth very swiftly". The MSG rendering says “He launches his promises earthward- how swift and sure they come!” 

The efficacy of the Word of God is sure. If It is not profitable to you,then,you have got to ask yourself why?

DECLARATION
I follow the Word circumspectly. The Word of God is profitable to me. I am blessed because I am a diligent follower of the Word.
