Monday Daily Devotional By Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet 10th October 2016) - Bask In The Love Of The Father

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

This verse is perhaps the most popular and the most powerful scripture in our world today. I remember hearing it and reading it many years ago.

It completely transformed my life and I have since then shown this scripture to many more and every time, the magnitude of the Love the Father has shown towards us never fails to change the life of the receiver.

The gift of the Love of God is the greatest gift that has ever been given to humanity. This is the Love that sets you free from condemnation, strife, fear and death and the limitations of life.

You see, the love of God didn't just come to us; it brought to our grasp the Life of God (Zoe). Before the gift of the love of God, Zoe was peculiar to God. It was a type of life reserved just for the creator. The devil feared God because of this life.

God couldn't be like His creation, and His creation couldn't be like Him. By reason of this life God is all powerful i.e. impregnable. He is all knowing, meaning that He cannot struggle to understand anything as all knowledge abounds in Him, and, He is omnipresent meaning, that He is everywhere at the same time.

By the inference of our opening text, this life (eternal life) has been given to men. But, whenever a thing is given, it has got to be received. Meaning that even though, this life has been freely given to every man, until a man receives it, he cannot have it.

A man receives Zoe by receiving the Son of God. For this reason 1 John 5:11 tells “And this is the record that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”

The preceding verse tells us simply “He that hath the son hath life; he that hath not the son hath not life.”

Have you received the Son of God? If yes, congratulations you have the very life of God. Until a man receives the freedom that the Son of God offers, his life never really starts.

Receive the Son of God today by saying the simple Prayer on page 93 of this devotional.

PRAYER
Thank you Lord for your Love and sacrifice for me. I bask in the light of what my new life affords me. Amen
