“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalms 1:3
We live in times where the church has been made to believe that meditation is wrong; and as such, the church has refused to accept the meditative life of a Christian.Meditation is a reprogramming mechanism by the Spirit of God. But a lot of Christians spend their time meditating on the wrong things.
When you meditate on God's Word, you are simply engaging your mind to productivity. A Christian who has a meditative mind can never be futile. He is like that man our opening text tells us about; He would never run dry all season.
The MSG translation says, “You're a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, never dropping a leaf, always in blossom.” When you look at the previous verse of our opening text, we see that the secret for the productivity of that man all season lies in him giving himself to meditating the Word.
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” When your mind is engaged to think; that is, when you are thinking the Word: pondering on it, it gets to your heart and pulls down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
The thoughts of a man build strongholds in his life.
Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
What guarantees the Word of God not departing from your mouth is by how much and how long you have pondered on it.
We also see that meditating on the Word is one of the prerequisite for a man to be prosperous and for him to have good success.
The amount of God's Word that would produce in your life is directly proportional to the amount of His Word you have meditated on. For every time you meditate on a particular scripture, the Spirit of God begins to unfold Himself to you.
As you meditate on His Word, He reveals something new to you. A man who has a meditative mind would always get something new out of every scripture. When you meditate, it would inspire confessions and in earnest, results would be achieved. Thrill to the Word of God every day (Psalms 1:2 MSG).
DECLARATION
I thrill to God's Word daily. I am productive all season, because I have a meditative mind.
