Adama Barrow announces Yahya Jammeh's stepping down for him as the new president on Twitter (PHOTOS)

Gambia’s new President, Adama Barrow, has announced that defiant Yahya Jammeh has agreed to finally step down.

President Yahya Jammeh had rejected the election result for weeks.

Barrow took to Twitter and wrote: “I would like to inform you that Yahya Jammeh has agreed to step down. He is scheduled to depart Gambia today. #NewGambia”
