Chinese Shot, Inspector Killed As Robbers Attack Diamond Bank In Imo, Cart Away N10m (PHOTOS)

Three gunmen on Friday attacked a Chinese expatriate in Owerri, the Imo state capital , and made away with the N 10m he withdrew from a branch of Diamond Bank on Item Street.



The gangsters shot the expatriate, believed to be a Chinese contractor working in the state and killed his police orderly, who was an inspector during the operation.

The Punch reported that the foreigner was attacked by the hoodlums immediately he came out of the bank.

The corpse of the police officer, identified as Hussain Jamaiz has been evacuated and taken to the morgue by the officers of Imo Police Command.

One of the sources who spoke to Punch said , “ Immediately the foreigner was driven out of the bank premises in his black Toyota with the number plate Abuja 723 JR by his driver , the gunmen who were already waiting double -crossed his vehicle.

“ Two of them jumped out of their car and attacked their target . ”

The police officer thereafter died while three other persons including the driver of the incoming vehicle and two of his passengers sustained injuries and currently admitted to a hospital.
