Acting President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has reacted to the Igbos quit notice via a gesture, stating that Nigeria has been in marriage for a while now.

While speaking on Saturday at the wedding of a daughter the former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande in Ibadan, the acting president, who stressed the importance of unity in diversity, called on all Nigerians to embrace peace and unity and ignore attempts by ethnic champions to disintegrate the country.

He said:
“Today is a special one for the couple. Marriage is a very large institution that requires a lot of prayers. It is the same marriage that nations go through.
“Our nation has been in marriage for a while now. Sometimes there are quarrels within that marriage. Sometimes there is disagreement. What is important is that you must remain together. You must remain united.”
The Igbos were given ultimatum issued by some Arewa youths that Igbos vacate the north before October 1st.
