Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet, 5th July, 2017) - Go for the Word
“All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” John 1:3
In Acts 20:32, Apostle Paul tells us,
“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”The MSG renders a part as;
“…Whose gracious Word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need”Every time you read this scripture, you've got to understand the scenario and events that preceded it from Paul to the Church. You see, Paul was about to finally leave the church. He knew that as he was leaving, he was going to meet his death. And just like a Father that was leaving his children will place their care on the one he has utmost trust in to care for them, Paul handed the church over to the one in whom he had the utmost trust in to cater and care for them. Notice the inferences that were made in the above text.
MORE: Be Consistent
How did God share his inheritance? Jesus told us that we are joint heirs with Him. This should tell you that God does not operate on a partial note. His blessings are not shared across by reason of who he loves more.
When you think I got the house, you've got to realize that there are many more houses to get. As much as one can access, others can too.
The Word of God is what has the ability to give you that inheritance. By the inference of that scripture you've got to realize that not all sanctified Sons will get the inheritance except they receive it from the Word of God.
Not all sanctified sons will get the inheritance except the Word gives it to them. So what gives the inheritance is not your display of righteousness, or your sanctification; but the Word.
When you want to be a child of God that will experience all the blessings that you are entitled to by reason of your salvation, you will go for the Word, because the Word of God will deliver it into your hands.
DECLARATION:
I experience tremendous progress because I go for the Word of God!
