Monday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Diet, 17th July, 2017) - Shine in darkness
“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John 1:5
Unfortunately, many Christians think that they need to be delivered or be in an already fruitful place before they can be fruitful.
Scriptures give us the account of Manasseh (meaning deliverance) and Ephraim (meaning fruitfulness). Genesis 48:20 MSG says;
“….Israel will use your names to give blessings: May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh: in that he made it explicit: he put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh.”Spiritually, this implies that fruitfulness was placed ahead of deliverance. We've been configured to walk in this pattern. We've been structured to be fruitful even in the midst of that challenge. In fruitfulness shall you be delivered.
2 Corinthians 4:6 tells that God...
“commands light to shine out of darkness.”And John 1:5, the Amplified rendering says
“And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].”This means that darkness (no matter how gross) can neither comprehend nor hinder the emission of His light. This is the life of the new creation. You have the ability to be productive even in an unproductive land. You can't be put out.
Do not fear the dark. Refuse to be afraid of that dark situation. Greater is the power resident in you than the one that challenges you.
You know the way you would laugh at a little child that challenges you to battle? Laugh at that situation or any opposition that comes against you because they are no match for the authority you represent.
Even in that land that seems unfruitful, build the mindset that the bulk of your souls are in there. You have been given the desolate heritages. Know that just like the MSG rendering says in Psalms 2:8, you own the world, and can command all of them to dance to your tune, or throw them away with tomorrow’s trash.
Realize today that God has given you the treasures of the dark – arise, shine and locate the treasures, you cannot fail.
DECLARATION:
No land is infertile for me. I am productive even in a seemingly unfruitful land. The treasures of the dark belong to me.
