Lukaku signs 5-year Manchester United deal

After confirming on Saturday that a transfer for Lukaku had been agreed, United announced on Monday that the Belgian striker had agreed personal terms and completed a medical.
The 24-year-old, who told ESPN FC he will wear the No. 9 shirt, will be reunited with manager Jose Mourinho, for whom he previously played at Chelsea. It was the Portuguese coach who sanctioned Lukaku's £28 million sale to Everton in 2014.
"Romelu is a natural fit for Manchester United,"Mourinho said in a statement.
"He is a big personality and a big player. It is only natural that he wants to develop his career at the biggest club.
"He will be a great addition to the group and I know they will make him very welcome. I am really looking forward to working with him again."

United's announcement of Lukaku came just hours after longtime forward Wayne Rooney took to the training pitch at Everton after completing his move in the opposite direction.
Lukaku could make his United debut on Saturday in a preseason friendly against the LA Galaxy in Southern California.
During three seasons at Everton, Lukaku became one of the Premier League's most prolific strikers, scoring 71 goals in 133 games.
He scored 25 Premier League goals last season and was only beaten to the Golden Boot by Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane.

"I would like to start by thanking Everton and the fans for the last four wonderful seasons, I have made some special friends and we have shared some amazing moments," Lukaku said.
"However, when Manchester United and Jose Mourinho come knocking at the door, it is an opportunity of a lifetime and one that I could not turn down. You could see the fight, determination and the spirit in this team during the Europa League final and I want to become a part of that.
"I cannot wait to run out at Old Trafford in front of 75,000 fans, but before that preseason is where the hard work starts, and I am looking forward to that first training session."
United had been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, but their interest in the Spain international has now ended with the capture of Lukaku.
Romelu Lukaku also revealed he asked Zlatan Ibrahimovic's permission before requesting to wear Manchester United's No. 9 shirt next season.
