Nice to meet you Spotlex, I will like you to tell us about yourself

Thanks, nice to meet u too! Well, first of all, my full name is Osamuyi Elvis Ekunwe, Spotlex. Am from Edo State, Benin City, Nigeria. And am a very cool person.

Okay, you have a new song currently trending online, can you tell us more about the song?

The tittle of the song is 'HAPPY'. It was produced by KulJay in Lagos and the song also featured Kuljay too.

Oh really, So what kind of music would you call that? Afro or something?

I will call the song an high life or maybe afro high life.

Is that the kind of music genre you are into?

Not really. I feel I can do all kinds of genre as long as it's music.

Tell us about when you started music as a career, what year was that?

Since 2006. Yes 2006,  professionally.

You were once in a music group if am not mistaken. What's up with your guys and why did you guys split?

Yea it's true.

Okay please tell us more about it

We were called X-Boyz, and my guys i think are cool. About our splitting, I guess we got matured and understood life better. Things was not moving as we want as a group, and we thought we should split, yea, lets just check it out.

So how has it been so far for you as a solo artist?

It's been good, though challenging, I can't deny. But, it's also very motivating because it brought out my inner strength. It's been wonderful and very promising i must say, as a solo artist

Ok, before we go further, I think your fans and readers would love too know your educational background and your family. Can give us a hint about that?

Hmm, If I should be sincere, my background (both laugh) is really kind of rough, e nor smooth. Growing up was really not easy u know. Am an example of that kind of child that could hardly afford a pen in primary school. Well, glory to God, your boy is a big boy now (laugh)

Am the first child of my parents and I have 3 siblings, plus my daddy yo and mommy yo, 6.

Okay, so where did you school?

I schooled in Edo state, Benin city, went to two Primary school, first being  Iguodala Primary School
and later went to Obed Group Of School. Then I went ahead to Berean Academy and Obey Olise High school, for my secondary school education.

Okay, the ladies would love to know if Elvis Spotless Ekunwe have a wife or girlfriend

(Laugh) Not yet o! Am Single but really not searching.


So, where are you currently?

Am currently in Ghana. Have been in Ghana for some time now

So what's the latest about your new single 'Happy'. It seems to be trending online, like I came across it on Tooxclusive and 360Nobs, are we expecting the video soon?

Yea, I can't even believe it myself with few weeks of its release it's literally all over the internet. And of course, I and my team are planning on releasing the video.

Have a date for that?

Not specific date yet, but, as soon as we fully ready we will let u know

Okay, we would like to know your role model in the music industry

In 9ja (Nigeria) It's 2Face Idibia aka 2Baba and in America, Usher....But mostly 2face though. I just love him.

So if you want to feature any artist who would that be at the moment?

Well for now I do not have any in mind but if I must, It will definitely be Davido

Talking about Davido, What you would you say about his beef with Wizkid? It seems to be creating some scuffle among their fans

Mehn those guys are just up to some publicity stunt i think. Dem dey play for underground that's how I feel though. Don't you wonder why they have never done any collabo? Them know what they are doing.

Hmm, anyway where do you see yourself as an artist 5 years from now?

Hmmm Omo by God's grace enh , I see myself being the next big thing soon and in five years from now, I will be running things with Jay-Z and others, performing in Grammys and B.E.T, by God's grace

Are you in any record label?

Nope. I do not intend to, maybe I can do partnership

How far has your phone been buzzing since you drop that hit single, 'Happy'?

Hmm, inexplicable, me myself enh I tire. (laugh)

Yea am always here and there but am currently in Ghana. For 'Happy' is almost at every club and corner of Ghana and the song has increased my fan base, ladies do not joke with the song (laugh)
