“Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up” - Lebron James came at Trump
LeBron James has defended his arch rival Steph Curry after Donald Trump withdrew an invitation to NBA champions Golden State Warriors to visit the White House.
After Curry declared, 'I don't want to go', President Trump tweeted Saturday morning: 'Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!’
And in response, LeBron, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, unexpectedly stood up for Curry.
He tweeted on Saturday: 'U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!'
No formal White House invite had been made to the Warriors but championship teams often make such a visit. The Warriors, winner of the 2017 NBA championship, have been in discussions with the White House about whether to visit, ESPN reported.
"I don't want to go," Curry told the press Friday. "My beliefs stay the same.”
A day after Trump had decried activist National Football League stars as "sons of bitches" who should be fired for kneeling or sitting during renditions of The Stars and Stripes, the US leader turned his ire to basketball's reigning champions and star player Curry.

The NBA Players Association also supported Curry.
"Steph: consider this withdrawal a badge of honor!" NBAPA executive director Michele Roberts wrote on Twitter.
Trump's spat with Curry and the Warriors came less than 24 hours after the president raged against NFL players who have protested the national anthem.
