Friday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 6th OCT, 2017) - Multiply!
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. Genesis 1:22
God is a master communicator. From our opening scripture, we see that fruitfulness and multiplication are two different concepts. Fruitfulness means being productive (that is, being fertile) whereas, multiplication has to do with replenishment.
The power of replenishment is tied to multiplication.
From the beginning of time, God has been in the business of multiplication. God would never introduce something to humanity if he is not in the business of that thing. He said in Genesis 1:28,
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
If God releases to all men supernaturally, it makes them very irresponsible. Take the children of Israel on their way to the Promised Land as a case study. On their way to Canaan, God released to them supernaturally, through manna and quails falling from heaven. When they got to Canaan, the Land flowing with milk and honey (that is, their place of abundance), God seized to release to them supernaturally. Instead, He told them to work, so he can multiply the works of their hands and they can experience the abundance.
For God to multiply what is in your hands, there are certain principles that must be applied. Knowing these principles wouldn’t stimulate the multiplication, but understanding and walking by these principles brings about the multiplication.
The power of multiplication would come in responding to the commands and statutes that guide it. You must understand the ways of God to be able to appropriate the blessings on your life. Subsequently, we would be looking at the principles that guide the miracle of multiplication.
DECLARATION:
I experience abundance all year long. I achieve much with little. I never lack, because I function in the abundance of God.
