Sunday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 1st OCT, 2017) - Claim that ethnos

pastor David Okoye
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matthew 28:18

This scripture is one that almost all Christians are familiar with. We call it ‘The Great Commission’.

The proceeding verses say,
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Do you know that every land you find yourself in is an ethnos?

God sees everywhere you are as a nation that is in dire need of the Gospel. He expects you to claim that nation for the Good News.

If you would claim something, it implies that, that particular thing is in contention. That is, two or more parties are interested in that thing; therefore, contending for it.

Before you can claim an ethnos for Christ, you should know that there are rebel holders in contention as well.

Jude 1:9 paints a better picture; it says,
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

Here is Archangel Michael, and the devil contending for the body of Moses. Wow! This shows that there is a battle for every territory in the realms of the Spirit.

The only way you can claim that particular ethnos you are in, is by rebuking the forces of darkness at work there (just like Archangel Michael did).

You see, every land is controlled and governed by a Spirit. The first step in claiming an ethnos for the Gospel is by dealing with the Spirit(s) controlling the land.

Your responsibility is to quash the forces of darkness in your ethnos, and make the Spirit of God alive, active, and burning.

The earth is your rightful inheritance (1 Corinthians 10:26). If you do not get up and claim what is rightfully yours, you would allow the devil steal from you. Refuse to give room to rebel holders. The only way you can deal with them is by exercising the authority that has been conferred to you through Jesus.

Maximize this authority through your place of prayers. There is a stronghold in every ethnos; and the only way you can bring it down is through your place of prayers.

Be the light that you are; expel every works of darkness; claim that ethnos for God!

DECLARATION:
Lord, I’m claiming lands for you! I destroy every works of darkness; [Name your ethnos; e.g. Houston, Lagos] belongs to God!!
