Tuesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 10th OCT, 2017) - Get God involved
And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all. Mark 6:41
For the past four days, we have been focusing on the miracle of multiplication. Today, we will be looking at the third and final principle of multiplication.
Three of the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, recorded the account of Jesus feeding over 5,000; but, they could not effectively communicate what Jesus did.
One of the Gospels recorded His actions as, “…he blessed them…” another as, “…blessed…”, and the last as, “…gave thanks…” You see, what Jesus did was pretty simple: He involved what He had with God.
How do you bless what you have or give thanks for it? You see, you do not bless it by laying hands on it, but by getting God involved in it.
In the spiritual realm, you do not give thanks because something has happened; rather, you give thanks in order to activate its happening. This was what Jesus did. Without the blessing, one child would have been fed; but with the blessing, over five thousand were filled, with an excess.
This third principle is what connects you to the spiritual source. 2 Corinthians 9:11-12 says,
Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God.
This principle is the link between the natural and supernatural; that is, the supremacy of God. Every man can do the first two principles, but not all can do this. If you miss it here, you have totally missed it.
Once you get God involved, get to work. But know this; when the multiplication comes, refuse waste. The two events where Jesus fed a multitude, He ordered that the remains be gathered.
This is because God detests waste. Only irresponsible sons waste. If God would commit His wealth into your hands, you must be found responsible.
God is still in the business of multiplication. Doing little with much is a curse; but doing much with little is a MIRACLE!
DECLARATION:
I involve God with everything I do. I am a responsible Son of God. The works of my hands are blessed.
