Saturday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 14th OCT, 2017) - Faith with works (2)

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26

For every time you achieve something because you have the physical resources, you lost a lot. That is, for every time you achieve something without adding faith, you lost more.

There was much more you would have achieved if only you applied faith. Take a look at Jesus, feeding over 5,000 with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes. The physical resource (5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes) was enough to feed just a little boy. If He had acted based on what He saw, that miracle would have been non-existent.

Whenever you achieve something by a number of resources you have, there is a 5,000 you couldn’t feed because you failed to apply faith.

Whatever resources you have, you can do so much more with it.

God does not care about the resources; all He wants you to do is to recognize what you have and apply faith to it. You see, God doesn’t function like men. You may have only $5,000; but once you apply faith, that $5,000 could achieve more than $5,000,000. This is where a lot of Christians have limitations.

Even when you may not have anything physically, have your faith. Learn to see life through the eyes of faith. If only you can apply faith in your daily life, you’ll be amazed at the success you pass by daily.

Our opening text shows us that just as the body is animated and kept alive by the presence of the Spirit; our faith is kept alive by our works.

Once the Spirit departs, the body becomes lifeless. In the same vein, once you withdraw your works, your faith process becomes inert.

Until your faith is accompanied with works, you would never get results. James 2:20-22 says,
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

The Bible calls those who believe that faith alone solves it all as vain. To be vain means to be ineffective, unprofitable, hollow, nugatory, and unproductive. Once you arm yourself with the mentality that it’s all up to God, you will fail awfully.

The perfection of your faith comes when work is introduced. GET UP, AND BACK UP YOUR FAITH WITH WORKS!

DECLARATION:
I refuse to be vain. I am a success because I back up my faith with works. Glory!
