Monday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 23rd OCT, 2017) - The God Blessing (Pt 2)

Pastor David Okoye
And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually. Job 1:5

Knowledge puts you ahead. The level of knowledge you have would propel you. You would not be able to achieve much with what you do not know.

Job lived in a time where man’s work with God wasn’t very pronounced. He didn’t have the opportunity of knowing every principle of God as God was revealing to mankind. He knew nothing about paying of tithes, or seed sowing in the house of God. But watch what Job was doing; after His children have feasted for a while, Job called them, and sanctified them.

The Bible tells us, he did this continually. Little wonder the devil said in verse 10,
Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

You see, the devil doesn’t talk out of knowledge; he knows a lot. For him to say, on every side, it means he must have looked for a loophole; he must have gone round. For this reason, the devil could not touch the blessing of Job.

What Job had was the God blessing.

By Job’s continuous actions, God initiated a hedge of protection about him and all that pertained to him. The devil himself, testified that Job was so blessed, that he could not penetrate the protection of his blessing.

You see, no man ever gives a report of his defeat; but, the devil gave the report of his defeat. Whenever the devil came to touch Job’s blessings, he always got rebuked.

Understand this; the only thing that takes the devil back is a rebuke. The hedge the devil kept meeting was the sacrifices that Job made. Every time the devil approaches, he saw that there was a sacrifice speaking on Job’s business. These sacrifices served as a rebuke.

If a Godchild wants to prosper the way Job did, he has to stand in the same place Job stood. Malachi 3:10 says,
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Your sacrifice is a platform for God to release His blessings to you.

DECLARATION:
Lord, I experience your blessings in my life. The devourers are rebuked for my sake!
