Sunday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 8th OCT, 2017) - What is in your hand?
He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. Mark 6:38
This is the first principle of the miracle of multiplication. Every man used by God was asked this question. Take a look at Moses dividing the Red Sea; all God needed from him was that which was in his hands. The question, “What is in your hands?” is simply the process of recognizing.
And here is Jesus in our opening text, instructing His disciples to go and find out what they have. He wanted them to recognize that which was in their hands.
Until you recognize, there would be no multiplication. This principle is the foundation on which every other principle would be built.
I have come to discover that when things repeat themselves in the spiritual realm, it shows there is a principle that is being applied. Principles when rightly applied would surely produce the same results.
There were two scenarios where Jesus fed over 5,000, and in both scenarios, He applied the same principle, and got the same result (John 6, Mark 6). This shows that if you can apply the same principle Jesus applied, you would get the same results He got.
God does not care if all you have in your hands is little. All He wants you to do is to recognize that you have.
The quantity never determines the results. To God, quantity makes absolutely no sense. God only requires what is in your hands for His powers to be effected.
Luke 8:18 says,
Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.
This scripture shows us that a man who does not have is that one who has failed to acknowledge he has.
Acknowledge that you have; value it, and stand by it. It is not a matter of size, but recognition. Once you recognize what is in your hands, God would start affecting the multiplication. Jesus feeding over 5,000 was not a miracle, but a spiritual principle.
Do so in faith, for faith never fails; it always produces result. So I ask you today, WHAT IS IN YOUR HANDS?
DECLARATION:
Thank you Lord, for now I know I always have. I recognize today that which is in my hands. I value it, and therefore, I experience the miracle of multiplication.
