Thursday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 19th OCT, 2017) - Maintain your confession

Ambassadors Word Diet
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. Matthew 12:34

The devil is not a mind reader; he doesn’t know what’s going on in your mind. All he does is to observe every reaction you give to every action he creates, so he can then draw out a conclusion from your reaction.

He uses physical things to decipher what is going through your mind. For example, here is a child of God that the devil wants to go the wrong way. The devil knows that his first walk into the wrong direction is his wrong confession. As such, he (the devil) would do everything to get that child of God to say something that is wrong.

A wrong confession is not when you verbally abuse someone; rather, it is a confession that is in variance with the words God has spoken.

Everything we say that is not consistent with the Word of God and what God has said about us is wrong. So if God says, “You are blessed!” and you say, “I don’t have”, you just made a wrong confession. Whether you are in debt or not, it is a wrong confession based on the Word of God.

The devil knows this is your standing point; so, he would do everything for you to say things that are wrong. Once you are able to, he has his first footing on your life. He stands on that ground and starts pushing more.

Understand this; saying wrong things isn’t just done with your tongue. We say more words with our hearts than with our tongue.

Remember Jesus said, if a man looks at a woman lustfully, he has committed the act. As long as he thought it in himself, he has done it. This is because everything you say with your mouth is a product of your mind. The devil knows this, which is why he would keep scrambling around you so he could figure out what is in your mind by your mouth.

For every time you complain, you just gave the devil an edge. Your words are codes; they program your life.

You’ll never see a man who maintains a wrong confession in the place of finances eventually have. As long as that man has said it, he will remain in that place of lack all his life. They never make progress.

It is your responsibility to have God’s Word force itself on your life. When it does, be sure to maintain your confessions.
