12-year-old with legs facing backward undergoes successful surgery (PHOTOS)

A 12-year-old boy, Ulrich, suffering from a rare condition of legs bending backward (orthopedic) has undergone a successful surgery sponsored by a Non-governmental organization hospital, Mercy Ships.


Ulrich Junior received a free surgery from Mercy Ships on the Africa Mercy, to correct his legs and make them straight again.

“Before, people would just stare at me in the street and label me a handicap. Now, they will look again,” the excited boy said after the surgery.
