Nigerian dancer Pinki Debbie breaks Guinness World Record for longest marathon, danced for 7 days


Pinki Debbie breaks Guinness World Record
A 22-year-old Nigerian dancer and choreographer, Debbie Odumegwu, a.k.a Pinki Debbie, has broken the Guinness World Record for ‘longest dance by an individual’.

Debbie who broke the record on Wednesday night in Lagos, started dancing on Nov. 17, at the The Palms Shopping Mall, Victoria Island.


She continued dancing and pushing to set the world’s highest ever by going for 150 hours, approximately seven days, set to finish on Friday, November 24.

She has the grace to rest and be attended to by her Medical doctor for 5 minutes in every hour
The previous world record was 123 hours and 15 minutes and was achieved by Kalamandalam Hemaletha (India) at the Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy in Thrissur, Kerala, from 20 to 26 September 2010. Hemaletha danced the Mohiniyattam dance.



Debbie is a graduate of policy and strategic studies from Covenant University in Ogun State, and she started dancing when she was six years old.
