Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 13th DEC, 2017) - His way is life

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the ends thereof are the ways of death Proverbs 14:12

The ways of God are entirely different from the ways of man and our opening text shows us one reason why: man's ways that seem right to him end in death and destruction.

Never assume you know how to live your life better than the one who created you. Pay attention to God especially when He works to direct your life by instructions.

God in Isaiah 55:8 says,
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

When it comes to God, don't think you can both think on the same page, because "the foolishness of God is wiser than men..." 1 Corinthians 1:25.

Amazingly many think that they know their way and what their future is. Without counsel, people perish and purposes are defeated so the Godchild has got to seek counsel to succeed in his new life.

A product can never have more knowledge than its manufacturer, for this reason, Jeremiah 10:23 tells,
o, Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

The AMP rendering puts it this,
o, Lord, [pleads Jeremiah in the name of the people], I know that [the determination of] the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man [even in a strong man or a man at his best" to direct his own steps.

If man's ways end in death, it means God's ways end in life. A typical example is in the death of Jesus. Many saw it just as dead, but God saw it as the entrance of ZOE (the God-life).

Follow diligently the ways of God. Even when it might not seem to be humanly right or productive, bear in mind that His ways will always end in life and pleasure "for all things work out together for good to them that love God; to them who are the called according to His purpose".

DECLARATION:
I drop my ways to let God's ways have pre-eminence in my life. I wholly follow God.

SCRIPTURAL REFERENCE:

Isaiah 55:8-9
