Friday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 5th JAN 2018) - The Spirit of the LORD

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. Isaiah 11:1

Take a look at the proceeding verses of our opening text; it says,

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

The words of God are full of truth. It takes a man who has a relationship with the Spirit, to fully understand what God says and when He says it. You see, whenever the word, “…LORD…” is used in the scriptures, it connotes the place of God, the Father, that every one of His Sons cannot fit in.

God operates by orders. If a child of God does not understand the order of God, he would live amiss. In the Word of God lies the order ordained by God for every one of His Sons to follow.

There are 7 Spirits of God;

The Spirit of the LORD (1)
The Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding (2)
The Spirit of Counsel and Might (2)
The Spirit of Knowledge and of the fear of the LORD (2)

Exodus 25:30-32 says,

And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway. And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.
And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side.

You see, the shewbread typifies the Word of God. If you study further, you’ll see that the bread was to be changed daily.

This shows that every single day, we are to renew the Word in us and get the benefit from it. The candlestick typifies the 7 Spirits of God. The 6 six branches coming out of the side are the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Might, Knowledge, and the fear of the LORD

But understand this; these 6 Spirits are products of the main branch; the Spirit of the LORD. For the branches to be fuelled, the oil must go through the main branch; which would later flow onto other branches. If you desire to see the products of the branches of the candlestick, you must focus on the main branch.

Submit yourself COMPLETELY to the Lordship of God’s Spirit!

DECLARATION
I submit myself to the Lordship of God’s Spirit. I choose to be led by Him alone. God’s Spirit is evident in my life.
