Thursday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 8th FEB. 2018) - Your True Call (2)

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:15-16

I was having a conversation with someone recently, and then I overheard a young man asking someone if it was compulsory to be a soul winner. He said he loves the church, he loves God as well; but the idea of going out to do 'evangelism' doesn't settle well with him. Amazingly, this is the situation of so many Christians. Most persons are scared of getting so involved in service so people don't see them as weird and old fashioned. The same way it is impossible to bake good bread without flour, you cannot be a good Christian without soul winning. In fact, what would determine the success of your Christianity here on earth, and also in heaven, are the souls you have won. You cannot subtract soul winning from Christianity.

 Take a look at Jesus; soul winning was what He lived for. He said in John 4:34,

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Oh, what a mindset that was running in Christ! He realized that the design of His life was to do the will of the Father. He came to the point where doing the will of God was food to Him; it gave Him strength, it satisfied Him, and He always enjoyed it.

Friends, let the salvation of souls lie nearer your heart than life itself.

People are hazarding their lives to ensure more persons are in hell. We've got to stand up and take up this call. Let everything you do be directed towards the accomplishment of this great work. Souls are perishing daily; they are moving (in their thousands) in the way of death. God has given to you the key of His Kingdom; the knowledge of His Word. Open the gate of life, and let men in. There are souls in dire need of the Gospel. The propagation of the message of salvation is God's heartbeat. Little wonder, Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20,

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Declaration
 Lord, I am winning souls for your kingdom. Everything I do is directed towards the propagation of the gospel. I would not be quiet; I would not sit still!
