Friday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 9th FEB. 2018) - Your True Call (3)

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:15-16

One of my favourite scriptures remains Matthew 28:18-20. This is because it shows us what God treasures the most.

We often say that the last words of a man are by far his most important. These verses were the last words of Jesus here on earth. It says,
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

This is how important soul winning is to God. Look at John 14:12; Jesus says,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

When I began studying the above scripture, I remember asking myself, 'what miracle could we possibly do that Jesus would classify as greater?' I mean, we're talking of a man who healed the sick, raised the dead, walked on water, ascended to heaven; what miracle can we do that would beat the miracles that He has done?

Then I realized something, that although Jesus did all these, He didn't do one thing. He didn't have the opportunity to win souls. He couldn't give salvation to men. This is why we say salvation is the greatest miracle.

As soon as a man says that prayer, he immediately becomes translated and new. God has packaged salvation in such a way that it surpasses all miracles you could think of. He has given you the power to do something that Jesus was never able to do all His years.

He needs you to compel and persuade men into the body of Christ.

To compel means to force subtly (Luke 18:1-5). Not until you learn the wisdom of compelling men, you would find it difficult to win them for God.

The wisdom of compelling would give you strength to sustain them and it would also keep them there. To persuade means to heavily convince (Acts 18:24-28). You cannot compel or persuade men with your mouths closed. Become vocal about the Gospel!

Declaration
I am fulfilling my call as a Christian! I give no room for darkness; I choose to be vocal about
God. I compel and persuade men into life
