Friday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 9th March 2018) - Give With The Right Heart

"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease" Genesis 8:22

Life deals with us based on the principles we apply. I often say, life gives to us what we negotiate for. From our opening scripture, God placing emphasis on seedtime and harvest shows the principles of giving.

God did not say harvest time because in His standard, the time of harvest of the seed differs. The time of harvest of the seed is dependent on the attitude of giving.

If you take a seed and sow it in a bad soil without watering, you do not expect to get produce from that seed. In the same vein, if a Christian sows a seed with the wrong heart, he would never get the blessings of that seed.

God does not look at the quantity given; He looks at the quality of your giving.

Taking a look at Mark 12:41-44, we see that God places emphasis on the quality of giving: He is more concerned about the attitude of giving.

A man who sees giving as a quantity affair, not a quality affair can never succeed in life. No matter what the value of the giving is, if the quality does not meet the Master's standards, you cannot reap the blessings of that giving.

Your giving to God causes a release to you. Do not give to God so He'll give you back; give to God because you just have to.

2 Corinthians 9:7 (AMP) says, "Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving]."

For every time you give, let it be a heart function. God would always bless those that delight in their giving.

DECLARATION
I am abounding in every good work. I give with the right heart always.
