Friday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 27th April, 2018) - Fellowship
Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26
It is often said that when the use of a thing is not known, misuse is inevitable. Jude 20 tells unambiguously,
But ye, Beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
For this reason Ephesians 3:20 tells,
Now unto Him, that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in usYour place of effectiveness is not in your asking ability, but in your recognition of the Power at work in you.
This is where speaking in tongues come into play. 1 Corinthians 14:2, tells,
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit, he speaketh mysteries... he that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself...Speaking in tongues is the inception of the spiritual growth of a child of God. God designed prayers for the edification of His children.
The basis of prayers is a relationship with the Father. In your place of prayers, as you speak in tongues, you communicate directly with the Father.
The word that best describes this is the Greek word "Koinonia" which means fellowship, intercourse and transportation. When we come to God in the place of prayers especially in tongues, we don't necessarily talk to God, rather, He talks to us because He is the all knowing God and knows much more than we do. It is in this process that you become more like God because there is a transfer and rub off of Diety on you so much so that it becomes difficult to detach the person of God from you.
Refuse to fight and pray aimlessly.
Don't give the devil room to tamper with your prayers, instead pray in tongues and let God speak to you.
When you step out after fellowshipping with God the devil cannot have access to you. Anyone that sees you sees God in you. Choose this day not to live a beggarly Christian life.
DECLARATION:
I do not pray amiss. I pray with an understanding. Anyone that comes in contact with me comes in contact with God.
