Monday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 30th April 2018) - You are your spirit

But there is a Spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. Job 32:8

Every man is a spirit living in a body that has a soul. Therefore it is said that man is spirit, soul and body. Many tend to focus more and give attention to the body.

So you will see a man always worrying about what to eat or wear. More emphasis is always placed on the body. This ought not to be so because the real you is the spirit. You have to pay more attention to your spirit man. Your spirit is the most important.

As a Christian, you have got to start focusing on your spirit because if you have got to remain with God successfully it has got to be through your spirit. The only place God can relate with you successfully is your spirit. The inspiration in our opening text talks about the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the totality of God released in you once you give your life to Christ. The spirit a man has from birth is called the residual of God's Spirit. The Holy Spirit is referred to as the quickening Spirit. When He comes He will quicken the spirit in you.

If you can successfully walk with the Holy Spirit, then you can never fail in life neither can you be disappointed because anything that comes your way would be a thing of purpose and would produce results by God's plan.

Light is such that cannot be hidden. No matter how dark a place is, once there is light in there you cannot contend it because it's so obvious.

The Bible refers to a Godchild as the light of the world. Your life should be such that cannot be contended with; it ought to be one that shines brighter and brighter. Men should not see you and wonder if you are a Christian or not.

DECLARATION
I am focusing more on my spirit man which is the real me. I cannot fail in life and I can never be disadvantaged in life because the Holy Spirit is at work in me.

SCRIPTURAL REFERENCE:

Job 32:8 (Amplified)
