Monday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 14th May 2018) - Seeing the Lord

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the lord: Hebrews 12:14

Every Christian wants to "see the Lord" -all aspiring to make heaven: and so lots of persons do all they can to live a Holy life.

Even though holiness isn't to be neglected; Christians seem to ignore the first part of that scripture.

You then have Christians who live 'holy life' but do not  'follow peace with all men'. Some others might follow peace but only with those that they love and not all.

Two things we must take note of in the above text: Firstly, it says "follow peace...and holiness." These two qualities are inseparable.

If you must see the lord, you must have both qualities functional in you.

Secondly,  'Seeing the lord' is beyond "making heaven". It also implies experiencing God or seeing God at work in every facet of your life.

A lot of persons wonder why they don't see the acts of God or experience his goodness/prospering effects in their lives.

Hebrews 12:14 gives the reason. No matter how holy you might seem, you will never [wholly] experience God in your life if the peace of God isn't at work in you.

The scripture didn't say you must be at peace with all men ( as this isn't possible) but instructs that you follow peace with them. Don't react based on their actions.

Let your need to experience God in your life supercede your need to react negatively.

Seeing God at work in you is worth more than taking revenge on anyone. Be wise.

Declaration:
I experience God in all ramifications. I refuse to let anything affect my walk with God.

Scriptural references:
Hebrews 12:14(MSG); Romans 12:18
