Thursday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 12th July 2018) - Faith it out!
But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
The subject of faith is one that cannot be subtracted in Christendom. This is because there is no other way in the spiritual realm except through faith.
Our verse today shows us something so striking- man in himself does not have the capacity to please God. Our only ability to please Him (God) is by pleasing Him (God) in Him (Jesus).
To please God means to reflect what He has said about you. In other words, you cannot be that man God has designed you to be if you take out faith from your equation.
Your faith would bring you to an actualization of that man God wants you to be in Christ Jesus. Faith has the ability to deliver to you what battles cannot.
There is a dynamism and an operation of faith. Once you are able to understand these, you would be a force to be reckoned with in both realms.
You faith brings you closer to God. In other words, the capacity of your believing would bring you to a reality of God’s person.
The extent to which you believe God is the extent to which He would reveal himself in and to you. The depth you are in the things of the Spirit is not dependent on the anointing, but on your believing.
But you know something amazing? Believing is just one of the dimensions of faith.
There are three dimension of faith. The first is belief; the second, trust; and the third, total reliance.
Your trust in God ought to grow beyond a ‘benefit of doubt’ level.
Let your trust be compared to that of the three Hebrew brothers; Shadrach, Meshach, and Adednego. Scripture accounts in Daniel 3:12-30 that these boys even when faced with an option of death chose to put their trust in God.
Now understand this; they had no idea that they would be saved by God. Yet, they chose to still trust him COMPLETELY even at the face of death.
Even when things don’t work out as planned, would you still trust him?
Faith is your only access to God. It is the only way of bringing to reality the promises of God over your life.
Declaration:
My faith in God is thorough and unprecedented. I refuse to be distracted. I trust in Him completely; therefore, God’s Word is coming to pass in my life.
