Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 4th July 2018) - Be prosperous! (4)
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? Luke 16:11.
The following verse of our opening text says,
And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
Yesterday, we saw the first principle of prosperity as accountability and faithfulness.
If a man does not abide by this principle, he would only have what I call shallow-success. No man ever becomes successful by neglecting this first principle.
I once heard someone say, 'A man who is never honest in small jobs, will never be put in charge of the store'. This is 100% true. Even the world is attracted to faithfulness.
Our opening text shows us that before God would commit to your hands the true riches of the kingdom, you would first of all be tried with unrighteous mammon.
The AMP rendering explains unrighteous mammon as deceitful riches, money, or possessions; but the true riches is that which comes from God.
The next principle of prosperity is the principle of DUE DILIGENCE. You would never hear a success story without the addition of diligence.
A man who understands and observes the due diligence principle would not lack.
As one observes this principle, it is necessary to back it up with wisdom. So many Christians are diligent without wisdom. They work the hardest yet produce little or no result. This is because they did not back up their diligence with wisdom.
The first man worked the hardest, but the second worked the wisest. Wisdom makes the application of diligence easier.
Don’t just be a hard worker, be a wise worker.
Declaration:
I am accountable and faithful, I refuse to be slothful in business. I am a diligent son! I’ve got hard wisdom.
